Gosh I miss Victoria so much... Victoria School... My favourite school... Did I mention Victoria is my favourite school??? I did? Sigh... Memories... I miss the times I had in VS from orientation day onwards. I remember buying the hard cover yearbook for the year 2006 as it is the 130th Anniversary of Victoria School. VS has come a long way since 1876. In 2009 it was VS's 133rd Anniversary. Too bad I didnt get to attend the Speech Day but at least something memorable would be spending my last day in VS on the 132nd Speech Day in 2008. Having moved many times, Victoria School is now located along Siglap Link, the 5th location and a very prestigious one indeed as it's next to East Coast Park. With so many wonderful state-of-the-art facilities... The ampitheatre, the aircon auditorium with seats like those in the cinemas, a synthetic grass field, a newly-built indoor sports hall, a big hall, the kitchen, the science labs, the flexi-rooms... very flexible indeed... the AV rooms, the various computer labs and one or two of the labs with iMacs... the awesome parade square on the 5th floor with a beautiful roof that has "NIL SINE LABORE" on it and when the sun is shining down directly from the top the shadow of the words can be seen on the parade sqaure. Also the various awesome art works by Victorians hanging along the corridors, the beautiful ecopond with so many creatures among the leaves and trees and in the pond... the wonderous heritage room and the UG rooms and the professional musician's choir room, band room and Chinese Orchestra room and the sportsman's fitness room. Not to mention the Victoria Hall (Hostel) next to VS a perfect match to the awesome structure of VS. But what's even better are the teachers... so caring... so fun... so professional... so helpful and the friends there, so awesome and amazing. The Victorian spirits of each individual are connected to one another, bonding together our brotherhood... In class 1C we had so much fun in the once every 4 years' Victoria Challenge... 24 hours working our way when the sun rises and when the sun sets, with the moon taking the night shift. We fried chicken wings and fries, delicious... feeding fellow Victorians who are working hard on their challenge too. Not to forget the BOWLING!!! And of course academic wise, 1C was the better class with so many in the Top 10 range that year. And then we move on to 2C and our classroom always receive the breeze from ECP and an excellent view of the ecopond. Perfect feng and shui. Later that year we had the tiles in our class... the ONLY class with tiles because the floor quality sucks to simply put it. That year before I complete Sec 2, I moved to Shanghai. SSIS looks beautiful on the outside, but inside you can see that it's definitely a "China Quality" building. The columns are so easily damaged with holes in them and the inside was empty -.- They have the computer labs on the first floor... who are they kidding... When they have floods... say bye-bye to those computers... In HGPS and VS all the comptuer labs are at least on the 4th level. Enough said about SSIS, some of the teachers are great but I doubt how some of the teachers are even allowed to teach -.- In VS we are shaped to be a Gentleman, Professional and Sportsman (G.P.S.). Our school motto: Nil Sine Labore meaning Nothing Without Labour always ring in my mind whenever I am reminded of VS. Lifelong learning and to pass on the Victorian tradition is what the School Logo represents. I want to live up to the Victorian tradition but with SSIS influence, I have to become stronger, become more positive in everything I see. I miss Victoria School so much, it's like a home to me, a place I can really run to. I remember the times when we change in class before and after PE... so sweaty... lols... and Red Cross... the times when we had to march under the sun and rain, marching to the top to get the EUA Gold. Working hard... First Aid lessons... so useful and can always be applied anywhere especially on me as it seems I get injured during Red Cross trainings or camps mostly -.- So from now onwards I shall work hard to live up to be a Victorian while the Victorian Spirit is still burning in me as Once A Victorian, Always A Victorian.
And I had this awkward dream last night (while, most dreams are awkward...) I dreamt that I return to VS on the first day of school and so many Victorians around going to their classes and Mrs Lim was shouting at the Sec 3s some instructions... lols... and then I go down to the canteen and saw Vivian, Darrel's sister then later I saw Darrel (Primary School buddy). Then we walk and talk then saw Kuan Ting and some other primary school friends on the staircase coming down... they saw me and shout at me and came down and hugged many friends... Ke Xin was there... lols... Then the scene transformed into a shopping mall... -.- and the shopping mall looks really familiar... hmm... anyways my primary school friends are still there then we were about to go visit some Chinese teachers then I saw Ms Yan (Primary school chinese teacher) coming out a store and looks like she had too much make up... too much powder... ? -.- anyways we talked and then she said she's meeting a friend then said that she's treating me ice cream... when we reached the ice cream store, and i insisted on paying instead the ice cream become jewelries... Tiffany jewelries to be specific -.- anyways the rest was all rubbish lols... Well it PROVES THAT I MISS SINGAPORE HOUGANG PRIMARY AND VICTORIA SCHOOL.... They have been part of my life for 10 years... sigh...
